PDRB — for Romanians in the diaspora

The Romanian community in Belgium is taking an important step towards direct political representation, with the official presentation of the Democratic Party of Romanians in Belgium (PDRB) in Roeselare. The initiative comes in response to the growing need of Romanians to be heard and represented in local public life.
The reason for the emergence of PDRB
The party's founders emphasize that, although candidates of Romanian origin occasionally appear in some Belgian parties, they do not always succeed in representing the real interests of the community. Romanians form a large group in Roeselare and other Belgian cities, but their political participation is low, and their specific problems often remain unaddressed.
PDRB aims to become a platform through which Romanians in Belgium can directly express their concerns and actively participate in local decisions.
Integration — an essential priority
One of the party's central themes is simplifying the integration process. Many Romanians experience difficulties in communicating with the local administration, especially because of the Dutch/Flemish language.
The founders believe that hiring a civil servant who knows Romanian would help considerably in facilitating access to services and reduce administrative barriers for Romanians settled in the area.
PDRB's political objectives
The party starts modestly, with a small number of founding members, but with clear plans for growth. The main target is to obtain a seat on the local council of Roeselare in the next local elections. In the medium term, the aim is to expand to other cities in Belgium with large Romanian communities.
PDRB defines itself as "the party of all Romanians in Belgium", aiming to unite the diaspora in a solid political structure, designed to defend the interests of the community in a transparent and organized manner.
A project in the making, open to everyone
Although at the beginning of its journey, PDRB wants to attract as many members and volunteers as possible willing to contribute to the development of this initiative. The founders' message is clear: the party can only grow through community involvement, and every Romanian in Belgium is welcome to participate in the construction of this project.
