PDRB — for Romanians in the diaspora
Dec 01, 2025
The Democratic Party of Romanians in Belgium (PDRB) has been officially established in Belgium, an initiative aimed at giving Romanians in Belgian communities a real political voice and representation.
Why PDRB?
Romanians who have been working and living in Belgium for years often feel the lack of a real connection with local authorities: language, bureaucracy, lack of representation — all are real barriers. The PDRB is established in response to these needs, offering its own political framework, dedicated to the Romanian community.
The vision of expansion
The first step is to establish and grow the party where the Romanian community is important. After launching in Roeselare, the PDRB intends to expand to Antwerp and Brussels — cities with large Romanian communities. Subsequently, the objective is to transform the PDRB into a political force at the Belgian national and, in the long term, even European level, with the aim of influencing Romanian politics from a distance.
One of the fundamental objectives of the PDRB is to facilitate the integration of Romanians: it is proposed to create an "information point" at city halls, with bilingual staff (Romanian + Dutch), which would support access to forms, documents, public services — reducing linguistic and administrative barriers.
Structure and founding members
The PDRB leadership includes a president and other founding members, who came up with the initiative and take responsibility for developing the party and making it grow organically through community involvement.
A project for the diaspora — with vision and responsibility
PDRB is not just a party for a few, but a platform open to all Romanians in Belgium who want to be represented and get involved. The idea is to offer a real tool for political and social participation, reflecting the needs, aspirations and voice of the community.
